Humbly I Bow Down

Humbly I Bow Down

Rapsodie Adams

The Holy Spirit has been bringing the word humbly, to the forefront of my thoughts. I have always related it to lowliness and meekness. But, the Holy Spirit prompted me to look it up in one of my Bible dictionaries. The words above were listed and a few others that I was familiar with. But low and behold, there before my eyes, was one word I had never thought about, quite like they had listed it; “freedom from pride.”

Yes, I had thought about pride and what God has to say about it.  Thankfully, it is one of the things that helped to keep me straight, and that is pride goeth before destruction. I had done enough destruction to my life, but back to the definition, “freedom from pride.”  That definition made me want to jump for joy and dance before my Lord. Now I humbly bow down, with a humble heart, which I could not do if the Lord had not given me freedom from pride (makes you want to dance, doesn’t it?). So how can we not, HUMBLY bow down before Jesus? Just think of how He died and shed His blood at Calvary, so we could live eternally (Just one of the many things, His sacrificial death did for us).

A Prayer

Dear Father, your Word says that we will be given a victor’s crown. Your Word also says that the 24 elders will cast their crown at your feet. I also would like to cast my crown at your feet. I would never compare myself with the 24 elders, but when I think of you giving me a crown and the price you paid, to give me this crown, everything in me begs to be able to cast it, at your feet.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
