Freely Give

Freely Give

Rapsodie Adams

Jesus said, if we would lift Him up, He through the person of the Holy Spirit, would draw all men unto Himself. Just as we were drawn to Him, by the Holy Spirit when He led us to the cross. Jesus gave to us freely, His message of Calvary. He never posted men outside the synagogue to collect admission. He never told the disciples to copy down all He had said and done, to put it in a book and charge a fee for men to read it.

Oh, I know I am stepping on a lot of toes. Sometimes when you are following the Holy Spirit, toes do get stepped on. But the only toes to be stepped on here would be the toes of those who charge money so they can build bigger barns. No toes were hurt in the writing of this truth, because anyone using the money to build the Kingdom of God…is being led by the Holy Spirit.

Over twenty years ago my husband and I rededicated our lives to God. The Lord spoke to us, individually, and said “freely I have given to you, freely you must give to the people.” Despite people trying to pull us in the opposite direction, we, through the power of the Holy Spirit, have held fast to what the Lord told us.

We don’t own a home today (our choice), no man took it from us. We felt led to lay it down at the altar of the Lord. Only because that was the direction the Lord was taking us. Praying and finding the Lord’s direction, is so crucial. Sometimes we get so zealous, for God that we try to help Him. God does not need our help (yes Lord, lesson well learned).

Looking back on our walk with God, He has done amazing things; through no funds of our own, because our funds have always been limited to our needs. But, God’s blessings have been nothing short of miraculous. He has taken us to so many wonderful places. We have stayed in resorts and hotels that had the most spectacular views, right from our window. We have flown to different Islands and we don’t even own a plane, let alone a jet. Yes, God has blessed us with many things.

When people ask, how have you been? I always say, “Blessed and blessed again.” Because the blessings that God has given me on the outside, of this body can never compare with what He has given me on the inside. All the dark places, in my life, have been taken away; now filled with His wonderful light. All of the tears I had, have been replaced with His peace. Because of His mercy, I have been given back my sight. And when man said I would never walk again, He gave me back my legs. And, so much more. You can see freely God has given, freely we must give.

A Prayer

Dear Father, oh yes you have blessed me. But, you have blessed me again and it is in that blessing, on the inside, that brings me to my knees going down and my hands going up. I don’t mean to sound cliché, but Father, truly there is not enough time, even when I add eternity, to give you praise. Not enough time Father, not enough time.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
