Just thinking of all the information that is in the Names of Jesus. It shows me that there is a bible study marathon just waiting to happen. A partial list might include: Son of David, Son of God, Son of man, King of Kings, Lamb of God, only begotten of God, Lord of Lords, Light of the world, Bright and Morning Star, Wonderful, Lion of Judah, King of the Jews. Oh, what a smorgasbord of delectables.

Let’s do a mini dig on, Son of God. When Jesus said He was the Son of God, this gave the Jewish leaders a platform to have him arrested. At the same time, the Apostles used this truth as a basis of their teaching. Son of God also implies, deity and shows us a unique relationship that Jesus had with the Father. At 12 years of age, He made the statement, “I have been about my Father’s business.” The bible teaches us in John 1:18, God’s only Son. In John 10:30, it says, one with the Father. John 4:34, doing the Father’s will. We also see in John 10:38, I am in the Father and the Father is in me. Further, John 3:35 states, Jesus has authority of the Father, Finally, John 3:36 says believing on Him, we would have everlasting life. Therefore, in having everlasting life we have salvation.

I know this has been a short dig into just one of the Names of Jesus, a mini dig at best. But I hope, it has inspired you as much as it has me. So I am going to go now and get a bigger shovel and my bible. Then I am going to pray to the Holy Spirit and we are going a-diggin.

A Prayer

Dear Father, I fear I have wasted so much of my time. That I have not been about my Father’s business; not even as much as a 12 year old boy. Father, please forgive me. I know there is not much time left, before your Son comes for me. So Father, would you please help me be a good steward of the time I have left.
