Let My People Go
Let My People Go
Rapsodie Adams
Exodus 5:1, “And afterward Moses and Aaron went in, and told Pharaoh, Thus saith the Lord God of Israel, Let my people go, that they may hold a feast unto me in the wilderness.”
As I look around today, I see that I am in the wilderness. Unfortunately, the church is dried up of the Word of God, no longer fertile ground. How can I say that? Because the full counsel of God is not being taught. OK, now I’ve said it. So I’m just going to swim on out to the deep end. I will leave it up to God. Do I sink or float, in your loving arms?
Come Out of Egypt
God is calling for an exodus. He is calling His people out of Egypt, which is the church (building) and man-made itineraries; into the wilderness (the world); (Ex. 5:3) to sacrifice unto God. Just what are we sacrificing out there in the world (wilderness)? The answer, ourselves; we are laying down our lives for the Lord and picking up our cross. We are going to shake off, what is man and instead of playing church, we are going to be the church. They (man) need to stop telling the body of Christ to buy another CD, buy another book, or go to another seminar.
God is telling us, exchange the CD for the leading of the Holy Spirit; exchange the books for the Bible; exchange the seminars for a prayer life. Well, I see I am still floating, so I am going to go on. Church (Body of Christ), time is short. Jesus is coming very soon. God willing, there is still time left to show our families, our children, no matter what their age, the Christ that is in us. Yes, we are to occupy until He comes, but let us not forget, all of the above is to have its part in our occupying.
A Prayer
Dear Father, please help us, your Son’s body. Unstop our ears and remove the scales from our eyes. Help us see that our Egypt is nothing more than enslavement and bondage to man. Lord show us mercy and help us to be strong in the faith; never wavering, but standing on our solid rock, Jesus.
Father, if I am to be enslaved, let it be…only to your will – in and for my life.
Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
