I Yield
I Yield
Rapsodie Adams
People in the church are being told that having an abundance of things proves, you are blessed of God. If you have pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing (woohoo), that’s God for sure. But, as I look at the people of the world; I see liars, murderers, thieves, self-seekers, lovers of self – more than lovers of God. As a matter of fact, they are setting at the head of the table, never have to stand in line, have an abundance of things; and they have it pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing. But, God is not in it.
I believe, if we are going to see the true blessings of God, in a person’s life; it would start with seeing they have yielded themselves to God. We would see them taking up their cross and following Him. We would see them seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness.
Oh, that’s right, we are seeing this and they are blessed. But not all are seated at the head of the table; some are having to take a number and stand in line. But still all are blessed. They have joy unspeakable and full of glory. To them the blessings are not what material blessings God has given them, but what possessions they have, that they can give to God. They feel blessed to yield to God; blessed to be like Jesus and take up their cross; blessed to be seeking God’s kingdom and His righteousness. These are the things in life, to them that say, I am the head and not the tail. I am blessed going in and coming out. I have an abundance and it is pressed down, shaken together, and overflowing with the love of Christ.
A Prayer
Dear Father, please don’t let your children be deceived about what a blessing is. Unstop their ears and remove the scales from their eyes. Please Father, never let me forget what a true blessing is; lest I be caught in the snare of the devil, and fall prey myself.
Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
