God’s Way is the Right Way
God’s Way is the Right Way
Rapsodie Adams
We do know that God’s way, is the right way to do everything. But, I wonder if we put that into a daily practice. For example, and of course this is only an example. My eyes open in the morning, I say “this is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.” I then pray and meditate about whatever the Lord has put on my heart. Then I hop out of bed (I wish), I should say…I slowly meditate on getting up.
Once up, my first priority is to take the dog out; we all know the importance of taking the dog out. When she has satisfied her priority, she announces to the whole neighborhood, a wake-up call. It is a hot and muggy morning, but she has decided I should get my morning run around the yard; I am hot and sweaty, but I manage to get this part Pyrenees back into the house. As the screen door abruptly closes behind me I trip over her rag bone; trying to catch myself, I step on her hard bone; a bone she has chewed in such a way that it makes it very painful to step on. All the while China (our cat) is crying. The crying won’t stop, until I feed her. My husband is in bed and since retiring, has decided not to rise until he smells the coffee.
I enter the kitchen with this cat still crying to be fed. Fancy is waiting for her Denta-Bone. I give a big sigh, brush some hair from my wet face and I spot Winter (our boy cat) sitting so prim, proper, and stately; looking at me as if to say “what happened to – this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it?” And the kicker, I haven’t even left the house yet. The point is, although we know God’s way is the right way, we must keep our focus on Him. As the Word says, it is the little foxes that spoil the vine. So we must always take note of the little foxes so we can walk the walk that is truly God’s way.
A Prayer
Dear Father, how well I know that the devil will use everything he can to try and STEAL our attention from you; and, if left alone he will go in for the kill, to KILL our testimony and DESTROY our walk with you. Holy Spirit, help me to always be aware of the little things in life that if not handled God’s way will indeed spoil our walk with Him.
Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
