Trust in the Lord

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 26, 2017

Trust in the Lord

Rapsodie Adams

What I am seeing in the world, does not surprise me. The Lord has shown me over and over, in His Word, what will become of the world. We must not put our trust in something that has such a disastrous end. So then, let us put our trust in the Lord. We trust the Lord to heal our hearts and to bring unity to the church. So that, red, yellow, black, brown, and white, men, women, boys, and girls of every tribe and tongue shall become one. Making us (the church) a mighty moving force for the kingdom of our God.

A Prayer

Dear Father, I know that there will be divisions in the world. In these last days, you tell us of an apostate church. Just as we are told to come out of the world, you are saying, come out of the apostate church. So that we might hold fast to your doctrine, which we are not to add to; nor are we to take away from, so as to please the world. We must have your whole counsel so that we are made able to do a hard thing, as your body of believers. Help us to never depart from your counsel, for it makes us able to walk in the scriptures you have given us.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

Will You Follow Him

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 25, 2017

Will You Follow Him

Rapsodie Adams

As we follow Jesus, our walk with Him requires us to put our agendas aside; that would be to lay down our life. We must be diligent to seek and know what God wants us to do; that is to answer His call. We are to take up our cross and follow Him; this would be to give Him our all. By the power of the Holy Spirit, He has made a way for us to live in such a way that He is all we show.

What in this life is worth holding on to? Sometimes we cannot see the forest for the trees. So we must ask the Father, what is it in my life that I do not want to let go of? Please believe this, He will show you. It is by what we do with that truth that will tell us if we have forsaken ourselves. If we have forsaken ourselves for Him, He will be magnified and lifted up. God has always given us free choice. The question is, what choice have we made?

A Prayer

Dear Father, making a choice to follow you may, at first, look like an impossibility. But, I have learned that, that first look may be through my own eyes. So, Holy Spirit, help me to always look through the eyes of the Father. So that I might see the truth, which is never changing. I can do all things through Christ, which strengthens me. And I thank you for this strength, for it is the only way I can accomplish things for you.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

I Will Abide

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 25, 2017

I Will Abide

Rapsodie Adams

One way we can abide in Christ is by understanding that Jesus is the vine. As a matter of fact, we are the branches; as long as we are attached to Him, we will bring forth fruit. Consequently, as we bring forth more fruit the Father will prune us. That is to say, He will continue to get rid of things in our lives that keep us from producing much fruit. For it is the much fruit that makes us Jesus’ disciples; and being Jesus’ disciples brings glory to the Father.

If we stop bearing fruit, it means we no longer have the life of Christ in us. For we are no longer abiding in Christ. And the Father who is (the husbandman) will take us away. At this time, I would like those that are reading this blog to go to John 15:1-11 and read what God is saying to His people.

A Prayer

Dear Father, through the years, there have been times, I have sought my own understanding of things. But as time goes on, I find myself seeking my own understanding less and less. Because you are the author and finisher of my faith; I know you are turning those less and less into never. Father, I never, never want to be cut away from the vine; for the desire of my heart is to always abide in Christ. This allows Him to abide in me.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

Lord Have Mercy

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 24, 2017

Lord Have Mercy

Rapsodie Adams

Titus 3:5 – “Not by works of righteousness that we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Spirit.” Hebrews 4:16 – “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need. Oh how many times, I have come to His throne room to obtain mercy and grace, in my time of need. The scriptures say His mercies are never ending and they are new every morning. How can I, with my lowly thoughts, even begin to comprehend such mercy? Nevertheless, God makes His mercies always and forever available to us.

A Prayer

Dear Father, help me to be merciful to all those who are in need of mercy. Help me Holy Spirit, to see and hear through the eyes and ears of the Father. For God, you are the Father of mercy.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

Let My Tongue Be Your Sword

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 22, 2017

Let My Tongue Be Your Sword

Rapsodie Adams

The sword, in the context of Eph – 6:17, is the written Word of God. Therefore, it is the offensive weapon we use against evil; for we do not fight against flesh and blood, but against principalities, powers, the rulers of darkness of this word, and spiritual wickedness in high places. We also see that Rev – 1:16 depicts Jesus using a sword to cut sin from the church or using the sword as punishment, to cut the church away from the kingdom. While Rev – 6:4, depicts the sword of the red horseman. Whereas Rev – 4:8, depicts the sword of the pale horseman. Finally Rev – 13:14-15, sword/beast.

In the song, Let My Tongue Be Your Sword, the sword is depicted as protection (Gen. 3:24). The song is a prayer to the Father and will be written in this blog as such.

A Prayer

Dear Father, Let my eyes read your word, Let my ears hear your voice, Let my body be your temple, Let my tongue be your sword. From Genesis to Revelation, let me read your word, From the morning til the deepest night, let me listen for your voice…From my head down to my feet Oh Lord, let your temple be made whole…To your children all across the land, let my tongue be your sword. Let me come into your presence Lord, open up your precious word…Guided by your Holy Spirit, let me hear your still small voice…Rain down upon your temple Lord, all your power and your might…Lord open up your children’s ears, and let my tongue be your sword.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

I’ve Got Jesus

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 21, 2017

I’ve Got Jesus

Rapsodie Adams

We have been taught, in God’s Word that the love of God that lives within is shed abroad, in the hearts of men. The words shed abroad, signifies a continuing flow of God’s love to our heart. If we believe that we have Jesus living inside of us (in the person of the Holy Spirit) how can we not have a continual flow of love coming from us? If it is true that God works in our hearts, why do we see the church (Body of Christ) struggling with this truth? We should have, flowing from our hearts: love, forgiveness, hope, faith, and prayer. Instead we see the church struggling to even have a resemblance of Christ. If we will allow Jesus to rise up in us, we would look exactly like His Body. We would then be a mighty force against the division in the Church.

Without unity we have no power. How can we fight the darkness in the world, if we refuse to see the power of darkness that is in the church? Instead of driving this darkness from the church we have stopped up our ears and closed our eyes. Then we take our self-righteousness to the world and try to win them to Christ with it. Oh church, this should not be…rise up and come together in the unity of Christ. We have such little time left, to win the lost to Him. So let us do what we have been commissioned to do – take the good news to the lost.

A Prayer

Dear Father, years ago you showed me your hand and on it was what looked like the church. You shook your hand and many people began to fall off. Those that were left, got up, brushed themselves off, and began to stand. Again, you shook your hand, even more people fell off. What was left, stood up and tried to get a good foothold, but again you shook your mighty hand. When I saw how few were left, I cried out to you “all of your people are falling off.” Then you spoke to me and said “I will shake my hand, until nothing of man is left, then I will build my church.”

Father, if this must be, I pray for my brothers and sisters in Christ and myself also. Please Lord, at the end of your shaking, I pray that we will be found worthy to be the foundation you build with. With Jesus being the chief cornerstone.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

Without Jesus

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 20, 2017

Without Jesus

Rapsodie Adams

The Father shows His love to us without measure, no matter what we deserve. This is not only true for the unsaved, it is a truth for us (the saved) as well. We don’t want to believe that we, as Christians, can be more unforgiving than the world (unsaved). How high minded of us, when God has forgiven a brother or a sister that we do not extend that same forgiveness; not to mention, how many times in the scriptures we are told to forgive, Matthew 18:21-22. We, like Peter, would forgive a little, but Jesus has said, seven times seventy. After all the times we have gone to the Father for forgiveness, do we even comprehend seven times seventy? Just a question to myself, have I forgiven my brothers and/or sisters in Christ, seventy times seven?

A Prayer

Dear Father, please forgive me if there be any unforgiveness in my heart. I do not want a wake-up call, in my life, because of some hidden unforgiveness in my heart. Holy Spirit, please help me to always extend a kind and loving hand of forgiveness to any brother of sister that has stumbled. May I always remember not only the stumbles in my life, but the great falls I have taken. Holy Spirit, Cause me to always remember the Father’s scale…seven times seventy.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

Lord I Give You My Life

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 19, 2017

Lord I Give You My Life

Rapsodie Adams

When I first accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior, I gave Him my life, to do with it what He would. It was like being made new, the desire of my heart was to tell others about the Savior. Suddenly, I was not fighting to do things my way. I was not alone, someone who loved me was guiding me. For the first time ever, my foot was on a sure and solid rock. And about that feeling of being made new, little did I know, at the time, that the Holy Spirit had made me a new creature in Christ; that old things had passed away and all things had become new. It seemed like every time I looked to myself to do or say, I was awakened to the sin of self; hallelujah, praise God, and amen.

Thank you Holy Spirit that you are still opening my eyes to what sin is. How I talked to people B.C. (Before Christ) was from my flesh; now led by the Holy Spirit, I talk to them from my spirit. When I did things from my flesh, it was always pushy, vile, and selfish. Whereas the Spirit of Christ is loving and kind, it is not puffed up with self, it is overflowing with the desire to do the Father’s will.

A Prayer

Dear Father, thank you for giving me your wisdom. As I move through the multitudes, it is with your wisdom I want to speak. Jesus you were and are a great fisherman. Led by your Spirit I also, can be a great fisher of men. Not in what I know, which would be to dangle a worm from a hook. Instead you Jesus, dangle the saving grace of God; which even after thousands of years is still bringing multitudes to the Father.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

God’s Way is the Right Way

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 19, 2017

God’s Way is the Right Way

Rapsodie Adams

We do know that God’s way, is the right way to do everything. But, I wonder if we put that into a daily practice. For example, and of course this is only an example. My eyes open in the morning, I say “this is the day the Lord has made and I will rejoice and be glad in it.”  I then pray and meditate about whatever the Lord has put on my heart. Then I hop out of bed (I wish), I should say…I slowly meditate on getting up.

Once up, my first priority is to take the dog out; we all know the importance of taking the dog out. When she has satisfied her priority, she announces to the whole neighborhood, a wake-up call. It is a hot and muggy morning, but she has decided I should get my morning run around the yard; I am hot and sweaty, but I manage to get this part Pyrenees back into the house. As the screen door abruptly closes behind me I trip over her rag bone; trying to catch myself, I step on her hard bone; a bone she has chewed in such a way that it makes it very painful to step on. All the while China (our cat) is crying. The crying won’t stop, until I feed her. My husband is in bed and since retiring, has decided not to rise until he smells the coffee.

I enter the kitchen with this cat still crying to be fed. Fancy is waiting for her Denta-Bone. I give a big sigh, brush some hair from my wet face and I spot Winter (our boy cat) sitting so prim, proper, and stately; looking at me as if to say “what happened to – this is the day the Lord has made, I will rejoice and be glad in it?” And the kicker, I haven’t even left the house yet. The point  is, although we know God’s way is the right way, we must keep our focus on Him. As the Word says, it is the little foxes that spoil the vine. So we must always take note of the little foxes so we can walk the walk that is truly God’s way.

A Prayer

Dear Father, how well I know that the devil will use everything he can to try and STEAL our attention from you; and, if left alone he will go in for the kill, to KILL our testimony and DESTROY our walk with you. Holy Spirit, help me to always be aware of the little things in life that if not handled God’s way will indeed spoil our walk with Him.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.

Lord I’m Yours

C. Gray Adams 0 Comment July 18, 2017

Lord I’m Yours

Rapsodie Adams

When we first came to the Lord, we had no idea, the transformation that would take place. We did not know about the Holy Spirit’s power to regenerate us through the Word. We know the Lord tells us in His Word, that He is the potter and we are the clay. So we yield to His Spirit and say “Lord have your way,” but do we really mean it? Do we let the Holy Spirit teach us God’s ways? When we are sent by the Holy Spirit, into the world, to witness for Christ, do they hear and see the love of Christ, in us and on us? The kind of love that Jesus displayed when He took our sins, on the cross.

We must always remember, when being a witness for the Lord, what Eph. 4:29 says “Let no corrupt communication proceed out of your mouth, but that which is good to the use of edifying that it may minister Grace unto the hearers.” Jesus extended grace toward us, while we were yet sinners; I believe if we are truly following Jesus’ example, we will extend God’s grace to those whom God has sent us to.

A Prayer

Dear Father, as I move through the multitudes of lost, those who are still in the valley of decision. Let it be with love. I pray that I do not see any sin that they might have. I believe the only thing I should see is if they have accepted you as Lord and Savior. Undoubtedly, the great love you had for me, while I was yet a sinner, is the same great love you have for the lost of yesterday, today, and tomorrow; for you Lord never change.

Be blessed in Jesus’ name.
